My first egg cost $714

just wanted to share... one of our girls laid her first egg today. Cost of 8 chicks, materials to build chicken pen and food: $714.

Yup, we were in for a grand on that first egg, but think of all the relaxation & entertainment we've gotten from our chickens. Cheap at twice the price (well, OK, maybe not at twice the price, but you know what I mean).
