My first egg cost $714

i understand!!!!! we hit 1400 dollars in coop material, its only 6 by 12 feet, pricey materials this year, we used our old dog kennel panels for their run, but boy do i love getting those eggs every day
 
I have more invested in my first egg then I had in my first car

I'd say you got off cheap. I just spent over 9 grand on a four-wheeler whose main purpose is to haul feed to the coop and "used" feed out.

Oh well.... You only live once and you can't take it with you, so you might as well make life a little easier, right? I told hubby the other day , " I'm leaving my millions to my chickens" he just laughed!!!!
