My first egg

Just wanted to share....
It did have a small hole in the pointy end. Looks like it was pecked. Second egg came the next day and was fine.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the small hole you saw in the first egg - it may have been some overzealous moving/arranging by the pullet that laid the egg or even some curiosity from the rest of the flock over this strange new object that had appeared. As the hole was small, singular and the egg was otherwise in tact this is more likely the case than anything concerning such as the beginning of egg eating, etc.

Thank you! I had just put "play eggs" in a few days before when I heard Ginger singing the egg song. Hoping to encourage them to lay in the nesting boxes...I guess it worked.
