My first eggs!

I'm beyond excited we got our first 2 eggs today! My crested polish (whom no one was sure if she was roo or pullet) and either my jersey giant (I think it was her, they were both in there together) or my Orpington.

I can't believe how little the eggs are. Like little Guinnea (sp) eggs

I still have about 2-3 months before I get eggs from my 8 weel and a but our little 20 weekers wasted no time! Yay!!

Congrats! Nothing better then the first eggs. They're so small and cute.

in about 5 weeks of laying the eggs will develop and get bigger over time.

I only have a cracked egg to compare it to (it's a fa freshie from a neighbor), and I know my polish eggs will be on the smaller side, but oh dear they are darling!

We're going to wait a few days to collect enough so we can all have eggs together

it's so exciting when they start laying - enjoy! there may be a few hiccups to start - soft shelled, double yolkers, other oddities, but it'll settle down as their systems get used to production, and the eggs will get bigger over time.
