My First Ever Incubated Chick!

Awwwww, it looks so sweet. What kind is it?

Keep those other two eggs in there another day or two, you never know what might happen. Do you think there are chicks in them or did they candle clear?

It's a bantam mixed breed, a mutt? I'm not too savy with chicken lingo yet.
And when I candled last at 14days all 3 of my eggs had live growing chicks in them. I am going to leave them in at least through tomorrow just in case but I have not seen any movement or noises and today is day 23.

Great planning ahead on that. BTW, I agree with the other posters, I wouldn't give up on the other two eggs yet. Have you tried to candle them to see if the chicks are still alive?

Yup...give them a few more days... I just had a hatch due the 3/25. They hatched 3/25 - 3/28. Longest three day ever.

I actually wasn't going to candle them b/c I was trying so hard not to open the incubator since lock down. But my other chick fluffed out and I wanted to get him in the brooder so I snuck in a quick candling while moving chick #1 and I am pretty sure I could see a tiny movement in egg #3 and egg #2 has a chick but I couldn't see anymovement. I'm gonna let em go until Wed. night though. The wierd thing about egg #3 (the one that I saw movement) it didn't seem like he was taking up as much room in the egg as the others at this point. I'm really hoping he doesn't have an abnormality or something from my temp and humidity problem. On day 21 my incubator started acting up and wouln't regulate temps and my humidity thermomoter pooped out on me. Everything was brand new too

Anyways fingers crossed that I end up with a 100% hatch rate despite! And I hope you're hatch goes well too!!

Were they all pipping at day day 21? Just curious if you had signs ahead of time that they were trying to hatch? And I know what you mean I stayed up all night waiting for mine to hatch and he didn't make any progress till noon the next day and didn't hatch until around 7pm. I was SOOO tired by the end of it!!
