I'd totally do that too! Last time I had an egg that i wanted to keep, I just stuck it in the freezer.

i got one of those little eggs from my Shim. if i remember correctly, it was the 3rd or 4th egg she ever laid (her second was a double-yolk). she actually laid it in my rocking chair. she usually only lays in her eggloo (a converted cat liter box that looks like an igloo). i put the egg in a small jar with alchol. it preserves just fine. i found that out when i wanted to know how to preserve my baby scorpions that died. my vet said alchol preserves without ruining the DNA for future use (not that i would have the need).

not to sound dumb but what in the world is a 'fart egg'????????

"fart egg" is just the term we BYCrs use to describe the tiny egg that occasionally gets laid. I think it has something to do with the fact that the egg is so small they could fart it out

Ya'll should see the color of the little fart egg in real life, the camera made it look washed out (probably didn't help that I too the pic outside on an overcast day) I wish all my chickens laid eggs that color

you poke a tiny hole in each end and then literally blow out the egg stuff that's inside. that way you can save it without risk of it rotting or exploding

some people make Christmas ornaments and stuff like that out of them

well that is pretty dang nifty!!! Do you put anything on it to make the egg shell harden? (kind of like people that make things with clay, they spray with a type of protectant)

Hmmmm, I don't know. that's a good question though because I've heard the color can fade a little with time. I have some clear spray I use when I paint, I bet that would do the trick of sealing it pretty well....I've have to try it!
