Hello. I am Emilia from Romania. 5 weeks ago I got 10 2 weeks old chicks: 2 blue araucanas, 4 BCP and 4 light sussex, hoping to at least 6-7 females. I think I am not that lucky with the marans especially. They are now almost 8 weeks old. Please share your opinion about who is a boy. We are now building their coop and run.

hello @Emilia1986 - welcome to BYC :frow

I agree with you - 50-50 split (as to be expected) with the light sussexes and the araucanas, 3:1 with the marans.
Thank you, Perris for such a fast reply. For the sussexes I was hoping for 3 girls. Here is a different angle with all of them. In the 2nd pic is the 1st one from the left (from the group pic). Do you think my Bella is a Bello? :)) how about the one with the fluffy feathers on the head?

Pretty sure both are pullets, but might be wrong.

I think you've got two sussex pullets, but time will tell :p Some cockerels are quite good at suppressing some of their male characteristics, but not the red colour on the comb, in my experience.

Yes, I have only one sussex with big red comb.I think the angle of the picture make it look this way for the other one. I try not to loose my hope just yet.:fl
