My First Hatch! *Hatching Update!*

What're you going to do with the chicks once they hatch? Are you going to keep any after the kids get to see them?

Next week the chicks will go into school for a visit. We will keep the hens at our home and find a new home for roosters.

It is now day 21 and about 12 hours since the first egg piped. I was hoping to wake up this morning to a chick, but they all look the same as they did when I went to bed! Is this okay? Temp is 99.5-101 and humidity has been between 60-70%.

I did notice two more eggs have piped!

I have to work today but took tomorrow off. Hopefully the eggs save all the excitement for when I'm home!

Good Luck. Watching eggs during hatch is about like watching paint dry for the most part and then all of a sudden you blink and miss it. Have fun!

Two have hatched! Egg #2 and #23. #23 was always the best candled so I wasn't surprised he came out as one of the first. #23 is the little black one from a blue egg and #2 is the yellow chick from a light brown egg.

And #20 still has his beak out and in the same spot but more of the egg shell has been removed and there are some cracks. He's making a lot of noise and moving a lot.

There are about 6 more pipped eggs from what I can see. It's going to be an exciting night! I'm glad I took off work tomorrow
