My first Hatch. Itzy and Ditzy's BBS Cochin eggs

No. I got home from work and was going to do a safety hole. I didn't hear peeping. Candled and didn't notice movement. Made the hole and saw no movement. Did an eggtopsy. Egg yolk fully absorbed, chick looked to be in right position. Guess it just couldn't externally pip.

Other 2 are doing great. But after posting here realized at least 1 isn't a Cochin... No feathered feet!!!!! Not sure on other one but don't think it is splash if it is.

Im sorry it didnt hatch. Glad to hear the other ones are doing good. If it isnt a cochin what is it.

NO clue? a barnyard mix???? it has no feathers on the feet. the other one has feathers on the feet so may be a cochin? but it looks like it may have an extra fluffy head.... Guess I see when they get bigger what they are. LOL

Ditzy is a cochin. I was hoping to get a splash cochin from my 2 blues (2 blues together can get blue, black and splash babies). But then Ditzy went broody so stopped laying so I ordered "blue to splash cochin eggs" on ebay...... and yup NOT what at least 1 was. and other baby I don't think is splash so technically not what either are.

But yes they are adorable!

Chicks are doing great with Ditzy! They are 2 weeks old tonight!

I now have 2 other broodys and working on bidding on more Cochin eggs, another seller! In hopes of actually getting Cochins this time and maybe a splash or two.........

Pictures? I set 12 black over splash thinking I could splash. Nope. Only blue.

from what I read black with blue, splash or black will not give splash babies. Which makes me a bit nervous since the eggs I am bidding on are from a blue roo or a black roo. Then blue, black and splash hens. so if any are fathered or mothered by the blacks then no chance of splash from those.

No pics yet. Still trying to win the eggs from ebay. and the ones I hatched before aren't Cochins. 1 may be a barnyard mix and think other is a light Brahma but can post some pics of them.
