I've got home bred baby buttons !!!!!

It's so cool.
Several members said to not incubate the first weeks worth of eggs laid. They were right

I had 20 eggs the first week and 20 the second. I couldn't resist and popped all 40 in the bator together. They were all clearly dated.
First week eggs, hatch = 0 out of 20
Second week eggs, hatch = 15 out of 20
We'll see what the next 24 hours does with the remaining eggs.
Two of the 15 are whites, the rest look like a nice mix ( I'm still not great at baby button color ID )

This time out of the first week group but the day 7 ones . Looks like we have another white too.
Fingers crossed I'm not having another episode of 'roosterbator'

Seriously though

Genetics intrest me a lot so I'm going to play around with colors and see what we can do with them ( I know they are quite the genetic color mix but they reproduce quickly & easily. So a few generations down the road I may have some color traits with known backgrounds to improve upon. )
