Not the best pic, i know, but it was so squirmy i was afraid it would make a break for it. My guineas had just started back laying so i tossed one of the first eggs in the bator to see if they were fertile, hoping to be able to tell in a week or so and add more. But that darn thick shell thwarted me for 26 days, til i had given up saving eggs and went back to eating them. Then what do i see on my final candle but a beak in the air cell! She's got an oegb biddy for company currently til i get more eggs going this weekend.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
