There's been a lot of coons in my area this year. Got a couple of the neighbor's birds before we got the first one and I've been baiting a trap regular to pick up his kin when they come sniffing around.

I'd recommend "Duke dog proof coon traps". Bait them with a can of sardines and exact some wild west justice on the masked chicken bandit.

But be prepared to shoot the coon after it is trapped! No way you are going to be able to get its leg out of that trap without major damage from the coon.

I thought I implied that, but yeah, you definitely wouldn't want to try to extract a live coon from one of them.
