My First Mortality

I just found one of my little rir's dead. It must have gotten hit in the head by the top of a temporary small coop. Gee.......this is my first loss. It was still warm when I found it......but no heartbeat. Rough. She was about 10 weeks.

Because I could, I compared her to Scarlet my little sick girl........and she was significantly bigger.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Just learn from it and keep movin' and taking care of the rest of your babies. You just gained some experience the hard way ~ as have many of us out here!
