My first peafowls

I hope so Zaz as I Hope for the best , I think these birds are the most majestic of all and have always wanted some but the cost of juveniles and shipping were always out the question and after my buying eggs for my pheasant hatchlings with only 7 out 24 hatching I was very skeptical of buying shipped eggs . But these eggs are larger than the pheasants and maybe more durable to take pressurizing of a plane flight ... By the way I love those beautiful words you have about life's ups and downs , so very true

I sent out some eggs and packed them pointy side down and got a report that all of them were developing on one order so far so i think this may be why, i have more reports to get so we will see how it goes for my first time shipping ever.

How far did they travel Zaz?

Its day 10 today and I candled my peafowl eggs , Houston Iv got contact ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ out of 8 eggs 7 have a heartbeat .... Im happy

7 out of 8 is great for shipped eggs. And now we all know that air travel isn't a death sentence for eggs.

Yep that put a big smile on my face this put to give the Avery credit that I bought them from , he wrapped each egg in bubble wrap and taped the ends closed so the bubble wrap may cushioned the air pressure.... Who knows!

Update Iv got 2 that have pipped yesterday and there taking there time coming out but I candled the remaining 5 and I see the proper air pocket for full development but no movement at all even if I lightly tap the shell, Im worried these are dudes , ill float test on the 27th as this will be the 29th day in the incubator ....

Be careful on that float test, somebody else just did that and thought they had a dud, but when they cracked the egg there was a live chick in it. The chick did not survive. I would give them time and consider assisted hatching, many people are having trouble with late quitters and poor hatches this year, even on Non-shipped eggs.
