My first pip in new Suro20 (My first baby) New Video

Yah, my King Suro 20 was around $280. Just love it!! The plastic tray I cut up can be bought at cutler's supply for less than $3 and they have all sorts of sizes. I cut it just a smidgen larger than my measurements of the bator so it would squeeze in tight and not shift with the rocking.

I never dream it would be that cheap, how much is the shipping? I bet $5.00 or more. I wish TSC had them here but they don't. My husband will kill me for ordering that and the shipping be higher than the item, lol

Hmmm. It's been a while and I had other items in with that order. I kinda recall being sticker shocked with the shipping cost. It came USPS. I bet you could shop around any of the incubator sellers and find an egg tray and see if you can find decent shipping. I had the tray laying around not being used since I sold the cabinet hatcher last year so I figured no loss if I cut it up. If I hadn't had it, I would have done just as you did: use an egg carton. Looks like it worked great.

You know whats funny about that is a second chick jumped back into the egg carton like in my previous post and couldn't figure out how to get out so it just stayed there, lol. Their all in the brooder or fish tank as I call it and the one egg left still hasn't pip. Maybe later

Yes, and I am loving it. Have you done this hatch start to finish in your Suro? If so, did it automatically adjust temp and humidity on day 18? The way I read it, all we have to do is unplug the rocker when level on day 18? I am planning to do a start to finish hatch next. I have been transferring 'special eggs' into it when it came available. Depending on how many of my questionable eggs I have to cull, I may leave 6 or 8 B-Ameracaunas in it as a hatcher day 18 if I can figure out how to adjust temp and humidity, just to 'try it out. These are really special eggs. The rest in the Hova-Bator are very fresh 'store bought' eggs out of a local organic free range flock of Austrolorps and Golden Commets. The Aussies eggs are HUGE. The carton wouldn't even close. I weighed several and they weighed more than 2.5 oz! Beautiful!

Yes I have ran it from start to finish and you do have to adjust the humidity control at lockdown. It is real easy to do, just pres the + and - together and the temp will blink. Just hit the ok button if your satisfied with that and it will move to the humidity and it will blink and press the + sign to get it where you want, then click the ok throughout till everything stops blinking. The water pump will start woking to increase. You can unplug the rocker to stop the movement or I just took it back off. Oh you can bump the water pump to speed it up by pressing the + sign for 10 sec or just intermittly to bump it up. Be careful that you don't to it too much. Otherwise it is rock solid on keeping things steady unless you open the bator during lockdown, I did with mine and spritz one time with warm water and it regained the temp and humidity within a second. Just don't hole the lid open too long tho, do it quickly. All of my six hatch and here are their pics. They are just so darn cute and tiny.
This is the last one to hatch

Adorable babies! And thanks for the information. How crowded did it get w/six chicks? do you think 12 bantams would be too many? AND I will be doing some Australorp and some Golden comet eggs next month. They are enormous!

Then at the other end of the spectrum, thinking of doing some button quail
