I received my new hovabator 1588 a few weeks ago and started my test hatch of BO, RIR, Blue and Black standard cochin and Barred rock. They have begun pipping! I love this little incubator it has been so easy to work with!
I am sooo excited and crossing my fingers that all goes well!

I'll share photos once I see some fluffy butts!

As tempting as it is, DO NOT open the bator! LOL

I have found that you will have a better hatch if you leave the chicks in the bator. They will encourage the others to hatch too! When you open it, you lost precious temp & humidity which could lead to shrink wrapping the others!!!

Hard as it is, enjoy looking thru the window only!!! LOL

Ya, lol. The window in my bator is only big enough to see the thermometer... but i put the eggs around it so i could see the chicks and if they are mooving..

It just depends.. sometimes a day or so and then a zip.. and then hatch!
But if the chick hasnt mooved from pip to zip in i believe 24 hours... (correct me if i am wrong) you might have to help it if it is still alive.. but you want to do that for a last resort.

and now, no sleep! haha...I have one who is out now and 5 more getting really close. I had no idea how sad I would be when I saw this little guy struggling to get up and walk. Not to mention the sounds he/she see's me!

Im assuming all the struggling he/she is doing to walk is a good thing and that the eggs it is walking over the top of will be ok?

I now know I need a hatcher!
