Hi all sorry if you are seeing this twice. I used the wrong index last time. I think this is the correct one. I hope

I read a thread on this site about why people became interested in chickens. Which, in turn, has created a great interest in chickens for me. So, I found a poultry show in my relative area. The show runs for two days. How do I know when the chicken portion of the poultry show will be? I've searched all over the net and can only find the place and time for the show. The show is hosted by WA Feather Fanciers.

How are these shows set up? Is it only turkeys and ducks one day and swans and chickens the next? Or is it two days of all animals together in one place?

I love your site. I've been reading it for some time now and just love it.

All right, I've been showing for over 8 years, so I've gotten it down pretty good. If it's a sat/sun show, go on Saturday. Sunday is when they coop out(take their birds home) and tear down/clean up. Most shows do all the birds together, just set up in different sections such as:

Turkeys

Ducks

Large Fowl

Bantams

Other birds

It depends on the size and layout of the building. I've even seen Geese and Turkeys shown outside. I can't tell you how many people I've talked to that have "missed the show" because they came on a Sunday. Good thing you're double checking with people, it's very smart.

Have fun at the show and tell us how it went!

Oh Thank you so much. I can't wait to see all the interesting breeds there. I've seen pictures on the internet and in books but have a feeling that seeing in person is going to just be fantastic with all the colorful feathers around.

I will be certain to report back with pics!

Thanks again for your reply.
