My first pullet eggs

Discussion in 'Incubating & Hatching Eggs' started by Grampa with chickens, Jun 8, 2009.

  1. My Barred Rock clutch that I hatched back in January, has finally started to lay. I'm so excited. This my first eggs laid from eggs I hatched. This is cool!! Anyway, how long should I let them lay before it is safe to incubate or eat them??

They're ready to eat right now! If you're going to incubate them, just choose eggs of a normal shape and average size. If the rooster is doing his job, they have a pretty good chance of hatching. I've had the same luck with pullet eggs as those from hens. Good luck.[IMG]
  3. Eating the eggs are good. They are pretty small so incubating will wait until they get bigger. I feel like a proud Grampa
