My first Quail Hatch!

So the second one was finally born!!! and as soon as it came out the other one started pecking him!! I thought he was gonna take its eye out... is that normal??? its since left him alone but that first minute drastically changed from a happy moment to one of the scariest of my life LOL

Hi all. I am new to the forum but have been hatching rain Quails and button quails for a year now and still loving every moment of it. @Joaov, I take my babies out of the incubator around 6 hours after hatching and place them in the brooder with food and water. My batch have started hatching and i'm on day 17. I have 21 out so far and popped them into the brooder. Quail chicks cannot survive as long as chickens without water, so best not to leave them longer than 10 hours in the bator.

Buttons should be moved to the brooder as soon as thy dry off they need food and water asap. I would not go 6 hours as they can dehydrate quickly.

From my eggtopsy and asking someone I work with that used to raise quail, my quail may be to big to properly unzip their eggs. He didn't think it was all that unusual with the type I got.
Hopefully I can save a few of the late pips.

Four have hatched... Two very black and two very golden.... now im torn if i should take them out tonite or tomorrow morning... they're coturnix not button... and ive read everywhere 24 hours... almost all the other ones have pipped... so im afraid i'll mess them up
