My first Quail Hatch!

I have a batch of eggs (first hatch for me), which went into lockdown tonight. I am so excited! 6 out of 50 were not fertile, so they came out. Others were completely black when candled and many are now wiggling in the incubator :)

Temp is great, humidity is spot on (and has been all this while), so now we just need to stay away and let them hatch!!! This is quite nerve-wrecking!!! Loving it!

And, indicently, this weekend (today and yesterday) my 5.5 week old Texas A&Ms started laying! Such a great weekend all around. :)

Hope

Ahhh - Spraddle legs huh? I didn't know the name. I am including photos of my "fix" and I don't know how long to leave the string on. I had a friend tie its legs together whilst I held it.
It can now walk beautifully. BUT
How long does it need the strength?

Here is Forrest.... standing instead of "sitting" with legs splayed

30 golden Italians went into the bator today afternoon!! And the countdown begins again! Exciting, addiction! Also the others are doing great, even the curled toe one... They are growing exponentially. They're gonna have a lot of white, I didn't expect from Rosettas

Can I ask? You literally just tied the two legs together and that's it? how does it get around to get to food and water with legs tied???

Alright! I have my first baby hatch about 30 minutes ago!! He's just scooting around and crying; just now he fell asleep snuggled with some eggs. So many more cracked and pipped eggs. Some are not moving at all, is that bad? About half of them are trembling and rocking :) I'm worried about those that aren't, but we'll see.

It's officially day 17!

Hope

Not just tied together. The string allows for about 2.5cm. It is walking and moving almost the same as the ones that aren't tied up.

Congrats @Hope It ... and yes... mine didnt move much until about a minute before they hatched... keep us updated... also here are pics of the guys that started this thread....

Here are my babies (8 thus far!) but hopefully many more to go. It's day 17 :)

First one, then couple more, now a lot more - Yey!!! I did something right, I guess
