You said you wanted to make pillowcases? Go to U-Tube, they have a lot of videos on how to make them. It might be easier to see it than to try to do it from just reading it.

Wish there had been youtube when I first began quilting in the mid-80's. There are so many instructional videos now!

I had basic sewing skills. I would love to learn how to make my own clothes. Yes youtube has been a lifesaver. I used it to learn how to hand bind and how to miter my corners. There is so much more to quilting than just the sewing part. Its an addictive hobby.
