Great first effort there! I think the important thing with quilting is just to dive in and do it! Quilts are personal and no matter how skilled the seamstress is who puts it together, they will be treasured. I don't claim to be a master quilter by any stretch, but I have fun creating them and finishing them. I don't do anything quickly since I can't machine quilt, but I do plug along okay. And I've finally learned to use a machine to piece them so I can save my fingers for the actual quilting part.
I swore that I would never again give a quilt or quilted item to someone who cannot appreciate the hours and sore fingers I put in. If you give yours to someone special, they'll have a piece of you to keep and treasure forever. I've always sold mine or given them away to family or friends, but I've promised myself I would keep something for me now, so I'm working on several projects.
