BYC has a whole thing on twin eggs - can;t remember where I saw it but am sure its in a Sticky somewhere. I am sure it will come up if you do a search.
It will be good to read and get the info for the big hatch. They did live as far as I recall.

Aren't they tho? I can even see through my chocolate colored maran eggs. Pricey for a little flashlight (about $20 at Walmart), but as I don't have a slide projector handy this was the next best thing!

Amber - Woo hoo for the babies! I can't wait til mine hatch!

Oesdog - Thanks for the info, I was on here last night for nearly 2.5 hours doing the research. It's a really scary thing! I don't think I would have set them had I known at the time that it was a double. I sure do hope they make it

Featherz - I think I paid 24.88 for mine at Walmart here in TN, but it was well worth the money. Besides I needed a good flashlight anyways!

Everyone else - Thanks for all the well wishes, I'll keep you updated.

Well, I candled the twins about 2 nights ago and didn't see any movement. But I stuck them back in just in case. Last night I noticed what looked like a blood ring but still wasn't positive, so I stuck it back in. This morning I once again candled the egg (didn't want it to explode on my other eggies) and it was a definate blood ring.

So I had to take them out. I think that one of them died about 2 days before the other one. I wonder if that is what caused the 2nd one to die. I was thinking it probably got bacteria in the bad one and that's what got my other one too. I hate it, but I really wasn't expecting them to make it.

On a good note, I still have 5 eggs from the first set that are doing great! I was really surprised to have 5 out of 10 to this point. They are the ones that were in the fridge for 3-4 weeks. I really didn't expect much out of them. And my other 4 that my hubby brought down fresh are doing great still too! Hopefully I won't loose any more
