My first sick chicken (pics and lots more info page 2)

GLAD you are making the call - please keep us posted!

I believe the dark green poo is an indicator she is not eating enough. The red stringy mucousy stuff in poo COULD be an indicator of Cocci. Do you have any Sulmet? I have absolutely no idea what the feather loss could be, other than molting. I don't have my Chicken Health Handbook with me today, either. I was going to bring it (I usually have it with me) but forgot to grab my tote bag this morning.

If you're not doing it already, I think you should consider adding electrolytes/vitamins to the drinking water. Just for a few days, until they are feeling better.

i know that the limberneck and feather loss are two signs of botulism

i am also having a hard time finding the #

still no call back or final word on who i should get back to..........It is a weekend but who knows. My hen has shown no signs of sickness for three days but i think ol rooster is getting worse???

thanks shelia! How have you been? Sorry i couldn't take those peanuts for ya, i had more hatch than i thought and you caught me on a school weekend while remodling the house. I always wish i had room for more and more and more:) Hope you and your family are well

well everyone is well except the rooster who has started eating and drinking again. He seems to be getting better but not like the hen did. I also brought her in the house and babied her but my aunt then reminded me that with the kids if i dont know what the chickens have i should keep them outside. I have so many diffrent ages around here i dont want my little guys getting sick, or anyone for that matter.
How are your birds do you like the silkies?
