My First Time Incubating!!!!!

Lockdown today!!! These next three days will be the longest days of the year for me....

Candled yesterday and threw out one clear, there are a few other unsure ones, but I will give them a chance, because they do not stink. 9 of the 15 appear to be grown! The eggs are hard to candle, so I cannot see details, just that they look solid and not clear. Hoping that all 9 hatch!

Blessings!

If you candle on day 5 you should be able to tell the eggs that are growing from any non-viable eggs. I usually give any of the "bad" eggs a bit of a chance and keep them until the next candling at 10 days just to be sure :)

I am so excited! I was working on a project in the sewing room, and suddenly I heard cheeping coming from the incubator!

No pips yet, but several eggs were wobbling. (Including one I thought was dead. Glad I left it in there!)

How exciting for you :weee

I'm sure you won't get anything done now the lure of the chirping from the incubator will have you hooked and turning into a crazy mother hen :cd

Now #7 pipped! just as I posted last...

You are right, I am not getting anything done. Just watching the tiny beak chipping away...

Be prepared for a long night! I stayed up through all of mine, paranoid that something might go wrong! I know the instructions say to leave them alone until the last one's hatched, but i found that to be impossible! I like to take mine out right away as they hatch. The first born will not stop screaming until the second one has hatched and is with it, though :barnie My husband really was not happy the time that the first two came 9 hours apart! Have fun!
