My first Welsummer egg!

I like this hen. She has given me seven eggs since the 22nd, all the same color.

Maybe in the spring. Right now the only roo she has access to is one of my bantam araucanas.

I do have a Wellie roo, but he's still in the quarantine building (just because I haven't finished his pen yet!).

Hey, Amazondoc!

How old are your welsummer girls? Mine are at 30 weeks and still no eggs. I've just about given up.

Hijack- how are your pencilled rocks doing? I've had no luck with that local contact. I need to try again.

I actually don't have any idea about her age. She isn't a pullet -- she was laying for her previous owner -- but she just started laying for me on the 22nd.

As for the rocks, they are doing just fine. They're very cute little buggers! I *think* they've started laying -- can't tell if it's them or the bantam leghorns, but SOMEBODY is making ittybitty white eggs.

Ohhhhh, wait.....rocks would lay brown eggs, wouldn't they?? I just answered my own question!
