My Flaming Red Orpington Roo - New Photos pg 11

Black sheens green. It is something to do with the shape of the feathering and reflecting light.

When you hatch from the bbs orps you never know what you will get - you can get a solid black, a blue of varying shades or a splash. I love them all.

Red, however, is my nonstandard colored orp, and I think I love him best.

I can see why you love him best! He's looking great, can't wait to see his and Meg's babies!
Great Job!

He is so beautiful. When I'm ready for eggs I'd like to contact you. Your birds look so clean and healthy. Not to mention beautiful.

Again, interesting. The male throat feathers on hummingbirds look irridescent because of the way they interact with light too.

What a flashy fella! He shouldn't have any problem passing on those genes.

(i'm over here busily adding another color to the list of chickens to die for....) understand, i am just beginning to nurse my affliction: i've been recently diagnosed as loony.wicked.crazy.obsessed.with.chickens. in my defense, it is all backyardchickens' fault. in fact, i blame you and spleckedhen in particular. always posting awesome pictures.

i want a couple of orps so bad!!! i wish i could hatch my own... but then again, maybe it's a good thing i can't!!!!!! ((imagining her house filled with peeps and bators and peeps and brooders and peeps......))
