AWW the same thing happened to me and my big crew ate the little babies

It was horrible and they can't be trusted at all. Was the mother trying to protect them? Poor babies

Sorry for your loss. Guess the mom wasn't "mean" enough to be able to fend off the rest. You mention she was hurt though. Is it possible that a small predictor went after her chicks and she got hurt defending them?

thank you every body for the support... I just check on the last one, with is a mille fleurs cochin bantam, and he is doing ok. Its a little colder than in the coop but at least they are safe.

My coop is a play house with the coop under, check it out ...

Are you sure it was the chickens I raise babies in my cochin pen all the time right now there are three little ones running around in there with a rooster as well. He babysits thuogh chicks just like the hens. Its cute when he calls them over to eat. They have even gone into the orp pen and leghorn pen without mishaps heres a pic
