This is my informal record-keeping. Better, I think, than individual threads for each hatch since I'm planning a fair number of hatches.

Day 4 for this batch. All healthy and in good condition. Not a trace of pasty butt.

Their world is no longer bounded by yellow walls. Most of them hid under the plate but I'm sure they'll soon be out to explore like their 2 bolder siblings.

Individual photos, by color type. (I never bring chickens into the house, but it's pouring rain, I had to do the pasty butt check, and couldn't put that off until better weather. Especially since the better weather isn't happening until sometime next week).

First and easiest, one Dominant White -- child of Repecka, the California White.

Next, 8 Blues and Blacks. I *think* it's 4 of each, but one of them is either one of my extra-dark blues or a black in disguise. Sitting next to the definite black chicks it looks blue to my eyes but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it's actually black.

One of the blacks is the half-Marans chick -- the one with the pink band as a known female.

Another of the blacks is super-black -- almost no white at all. Wondering if that might be the other half-CW chick.

And 4 -- count them FOUR -- Splashes!

Some have a fair amount of yellow in the down, others are more silvery.

Two of the babies have something that I'm taking to be a bit of their umbilical remaining. It's threadier than dried poop and nowhere near their vents.

I am leaving it alone to drop off naturally.
