The *right* Sablepoot roosters started mating the,*right* Silkie hens. That means that I can start working on my project soon! The hens have to start laying first... But Huggy looks very close to laying. I really don't know when she is going to lay because she is a Silkie and everything...

I assume you have your pairs separated that you want to breed? Otherwise you'd end up with any mix since you wouldn't know which rooster is the father
How old is Huggy now? Mine start laying around 7-8 months but it does depend on what season it is. I try to have some hatch late Sept/ early October so they start laying before Winter then they continue my egg supply through Winter when others stop

Yes my project is called ,, mille fleur Silkie" the title says all Yes I am going to seperate them-when she starts laying. She is 9 months old now and her comb got a lot bigger lately. She also squats

Now how could that be bad? I love Wyandottes. Here's my big boy. He's a Columbian Wyandotte. He's definitely not a bantam though!

Chirp mated a Sablepoot yesterday! He is literally two times bigger than she is but she is okay

My Rhode island white (7-9 lbs) mated my teeny bantam once.
