My Flying Chicken

So I have a bantam rooster who is the best flyer i have ever seen. He can literally fly over houses and can looks kinda like a miniature pheasant when he flys. what is the best flyer in your flock and what breed? Mine is a cross between a dutch bantam rooster and a D'anver. He is near impossible to catch

My best flyers are American Games. Most are easy to catch and often fly to me. A pair of hens fly close to a hundred yards for to me when I carry feed bucket.

I have had them launch in woods and within a distance of a hundred yards or so be high enough to clear 80 foot trees where the birds can then fly better than a couple hundred yards horizontally back to barn.

This is the best flyer to date that I have observed. Her name is Donk. She's part Marans and part some sort of bantam.
She has launched herself off the edge of the sheep field behind the main house here; field edge approximately 2M above ground level, flown over the roof and flapped her way downhill to the donkey field. I haven't measured the distance but it's well over 300 feet.

might want to measure your chickens flight. the current longest flight distance that is recorded is 301 feet
Mine can triple that easy. It is hard to film which I assume needed to prove for some thing like Guinness Book of World Records. Best filming I can do so far is a little over 200 feet with birds coming off roost and flying up a small grade. Much longer flights realized when chickens scared.
