My FR came in the mail yesterday! I got 25 of them, and was hoping that none would die on the way to AK, and none did, sooo..... good!
They all look hale and hearty, with way more reds and buffs than tricolor.

I've been sick for the past week, so this was really nice and uplifting.

I showed the tired looking ones the water.

They are alot smaller than my layer chicks were, but their fluffy little butts are the bee's knees.

They started noshing right away. I was surprised, but they must have less yolk than my others did, since they traveled.

There they are, walking around. The tricolors are a cinnamon color, the buffs are white/yellow, and the reds are gold or paprika at darkest, I think.

Anywho, my Buff Orps aren't being broody yet, so I had to have my chick-fix!

Thanks for all the advice, Legion! I can't wait to get a taste of these little dudes.

CoopCrazy -- so I'm not the only one who thinks the Cornish Xs are sweet. Last year I raised Dixie Rainbows (free range meat bird). And this year I'm trying my hand at Cornish Xs. Mine are four weeks old now. They do seem like a really sweet bird. I stand in their outside run and they come up to me even though I have no food in hand. They let me pet them and kinda enjoy it.

Yep mine never liked me sticking my hand in their cage but once i started to scrath on thier lil head s then they all started running to the front for lovins... I think I remeber reading where they were bred to be docile.. I guess since they live in such close proccimitie they needed to be nice...
