Several birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Act which makes it a federal offense to be in possession of eggs, chicks or adults of the species. You can be fined or jailed.

ok. but could you tell me what those lines are, i'm just curious, i haven't seen it before

Magpies will often drop chicks and eggs they’ve snatched from nests, then for whatever reason not retrieve them..

looks like a bantam egg, its pretty big. it's gone bad though.
