My giant weekend eggs!

These eggs were all laid either Saturday night or Sunday morning.

I weighed them -

From left to right -

3.4 - from a barred rock

3.35 - from a barred rock

3.4 - from a buff orpington

3.75 - not sure but I think a RIR

The odd 5th small looking egg is a normal large buff orpington egg for size comparison.

I am trying to remember what they had to eat that was extra the three days prior. I know they had some oats, rice, yogurt and boss - along with some salad scraps and egg shells and some 15 grain bread.

I wonder what combo set off this production in my girls.

WOW! Nice eggs, MissPrissy! How old are your girls that laid them?

Something must have been in the air yesterday, b/c I collected 14 eggs from 15 pullets. I usually collect about 11 ...... sometimes a dz. I was like....Yipeee!!!!!

My girls are young. Just pullets between 10 and 11 months old. I am getting a few of these everyother week.

I blow them and we paint them for Christmas ornament. We are getting quite a nice collection these days.
