My girl laid this. She wont eat or drink and just wants to stay in nesting box. Im scared for her.

I second this. Ever since I did this, no more softshell eggs.
I've always had OS for my hens. But I got softshells for a couple of weeks until I discovered a snake in the hen house! Once I got rid of the snake AND its mate, no more jelly eggs. Apparently (I deduced), stress can cause the problem.

I'm sorry... your snake brought a girlfriend into the coop? I would be scared it laid snake eggs amongst the chicken eggs!!!

Huh, I never even thought about that. They were too busy eating my chicken eggs! Now I have to go google Where do black rat snakes lay their eggs? Just what I need, a bunch of baby snakes hatching out under my hen house, Grrr!

Well hopefully that will take care of your snake problem for a while. Better put some more wooden ones out for its mate. Or ceramic ones. Boy, I do not envy him his belly ache!
