My girls have abducted me!🤪

I have a question for all of you awesome poultry caretakers. I'm in poultry prison. My girls, geese, and bunnies forbid me to leave the house. I would love to travel, but because I have no one to care for my birds, I can't go anywhere. If you travel, what arrangements do you make for the care of your birds?

Family members care foe mine. I only have chickens and a dog. I fill the chickens feeder full.

Feeder holds 150 lbs of feed, waterer holds 7 gallons , i leave out 2 2.5 gallon buckets,. I go on 3-5 day trips regularly. there ina 30x30 compl f3nced in sides & roof.

When we went away we had a friends come and take care of them. If you have neighbours you can ask them if they’ll take care of your pets,

I rarely travel, and when I do, I generally leave hubby at home to take care of the animals and garden and vice versa. It's worked well enough for us like that.

The last time we both took a trip post-chickens, we had our neighbor come over and open and close the coop door, and collect eggs. We have an auto door now so that's not even needed anymore.

You can set up things like larger feeders and waterers, but personally I like someone coming over each day just to make sure everything's all right. A neighbor, a friend, a family member, even someone you hire like a pet sitter to come check things out is the way to go.
