I bought a bunch of chicks that my sons and I raised for the first time around Easter this year. Some were a week or 2 old to start. They should be laying soon and some are. I am patient but I believe I have some Roos in the coop and need help with gender identification. Any help would be appreciated. Ameraucana

I have some more photos but my 9year old photographer needs to try again before I upload them. These i thought were decent enough to start for some feedback. Thank you in advance.

Your Ameraucana maybe an EE pullet, the Leghorn does have a huge comb/lots of wattle but I don't see any hackle nor saddle feathering so probable pullet & the last looks to be a pullet.

Red comb/wattles + squatting + pelvic bone spread = LAYING

I just (BYC) learned/tried measuring my girls pelvic bone, it's a sure sign! A 2 finger spread is very close to laying. One was a 2 finger spread so opened the nest box, she started laying within a week. She's been laying for a few days now, checked her pelvic bone & it's even wider. Check the rest of the girls but they've got a ways more to go.
