Hello,

I need to get this off my chest. Today, I had to butcher my flock. I am moving in March and can't take them. It was very hard. I raised them from chicks, saw them grow up, had funny and happy times, the works.

I feel very sad because this had to be done. I know every chicken raiser has to do this sooner or later, but this was my first time doing this. I feel very sad. I was attached to them, and I am sad they had to go.

Maybe when I move I'll build a run and raise more. That may make me feel better.

Thanks everyone for teaching me how to raise chickens.

So sorry you had to do this. I personally think it's better than sending them somewhere else where you have no control over their care. It's never an easy decision to make. Sorry.

It is a tough one, but it does give you confidence to know that you can make the decision and follow through with it. Many people cannot, even when they need to.

I hope you are blessed with a nice area for a new coop/run, and in the spring, chicks are coming!
