My attacked lady totally pulled through! I was amazed by how well she healed, and she surprised me and everyone who saw her after the attack - we all thought she'd die for sure. She healed up really well without stiches or other medical help, her feathers are all grown back, and her tail feathers are getting longer. BUT she still does not lay eggs. She eats a lot and sits in the nesting box every day but leaves every day without having laid anything. Maybe there is another issue. This year has been the first year with questions, incidents, parasites, and even a death from who-knows-why. Chicken owning has been too easy I guess in the past.... now comes the wondering and I am so happy there is a page like this with bird lovers/owners like you to answer questions!
