My girls... what breeds are they?

We LOVE them!! Can't even believe all the different personalities. Took them a few weeks, but they like us now... not crazy about being held unless I'm running their chest, but they come running when we approach and let us pet them and love to eat bugs from our hands. Seem disappointed when we just toss them in the coop.

Your Polish is a White Crested Black, not a Laced.

Lol... that was the only one the pet store told us, that i remembered..lol. She's still a cutie.. her name is Fried.

Beautiful assortment! Where'd you get them? The black and white one is a silver lakenvelder, and the greyish one may be silver leghorn. Not sure about the black one (looks like dark skin, so perhaps a sumatra? though the comb seems wrong for that - sumatras should have pea combs not singles). Perhaps the reddish one is dark buff orpington? And its comb is looking a little rooey for 6-8 weeks

Agree with Gray Farms - buff/red bird may be an off color Buff Orpington, and may also be a cockerel.

Aww! I wish my chickens loved me that much lol!

I read i need to handle them frequently from the start... they weren't thrilled at first, but it's seems to have paid off. I love to think they love me.. but i think they love the bugs and yogurt..lol.

Peach yogurt is their favorite. We bought a watermelon yesterday. I chopped it up and am freezing the pieces. Read that'd they would like that in this horrible heat.

Wow, I never thought of doing that. That's cool! I should do that... Maybe i should give them more treats in general

More treats isn't always a good thing. It can delay egg laying or slow down egg production. We made this mistake with our first round of pullets.
