My girls won't touch that snow!

my RIR's dispise the snow. They rarely will touch it. My Sumatra's and Bantam , and Bantam Sumatra hybrids on the other hand don't mind it at all, until it gets over their heads.

this was a 26 inch snowfall, so I snowblowed them (and me) paths. Somewhere I have pics of stranded young roo's who flew into the 26 inch deep snow. The older birds were smart enough to wait for paths....

a few of the girls and boys out playing in the snow today::
Mr Attitude, father to Prius, Xman, and 2 yet to be named young roo's. A smart little guy and my favorite. He is standing right at my feet in this pic, after he tripped me, and crowing at me. He wants a private meal. And he got it:D

this is Prius, a Sumatra, Bantam Hybrid. Son of Mr Attitude. He just started crowing 2.5 weeks ago. I'll get better pictures of him when the sun is out. He has great coloring. And spunk!

Mine will go out if there is only a little on the ground, but if the ground is completely covered where they can't see and dirt they stay in their coop. Although my Black Australorps will venture out for short periods of time, my Hybrid layers stay put.

My barred rocks seem to LOVE the snow. maybe they just want to get out and run around?
