My goat had a miscarriage this morning!

Sorry you had such a rough day. Hopefully everything will work out and your goat will be just fine. Is she acting normal?

Does the placenta look normal or is it a yucky strawberry yogurt color? Just wondering if she may have had chlamydia.

Did the vet give her anything to fight infection? Make sure she is eating and drinking normally. I think she'll be okay - but just watch her carefully. She is just a baby herself...and has been through so much...I'm so sorry to hear about this. Have you de-wormed her since you've had her back home? I would give her a few days to re-coup and make sure she's doing fine and then I would de-worm her if you haven't already done so. Keep us posted...good luck with the little doe - thank goodness you have them back!

Almost forgot... has she had her CD& T shot?

I'm sorry redhen

I dont know what a normal color is.
They took her blood today and in 2 weeks i have to go back and they are taking more blood and then they are sending both specemins out to be tested for disease. Because i told them that i didnt trust this ladys goats not having disease...
I will be furious if she got a disease while at this ladies house.

the vet actually knew who i was talking about....she didnt have anything good to say about this ladies herd. that they are always very ill to death when she brings them in. ( i would have NEVER ever gave my goats to her if i knew all this stuff! ) So she wouldnt doubt that her herd has a disease. I'm gonna be so heartbroken if she got a disease while in her care.
