my goose is sick I need some help

Whenever I've used antibiotics that are not water dispersible, I make it a point to use Probios dispersible powder in drinkers to prevent digestive irritation. The reason I avoid other forms of probiotic bacteria such as yogurt, those contained in milk products, or vitamin supplements is because those minerals have adverse effects to absorption of fluoroquinolones like Baytril. Of course, it is always a good idea to supplement vitamin-electrolyte-probiotic in waterers after the last day of antibiotic therapy.
I didn't mean he should feed his gander probiotics like yogurt I just meant and sometimes I don't explain myself so well, that it's a good idea to give the probio when using a antibiotic because of digestive upset. But Kathy would be able to give info on when and what would be best. I really doubt he'd be able to get his gander to eat yogurt anyway my water fowl won't eat it I use powered probiotics in their water. Sorry if it sounded like I was rec yogurt .Not my intention

Ok I had gotten results back entorobacter is what came up I don't know how he got it I habitually clean his bowls and floor with clorox and yes I extremely wash with water when done floor too gets straight clorox when he's out side so is this something a rat would carry she said it's resistant to sulfa and oxytetracycline baytril is the only thing that works for that specific bacteria so pro biotic the whole time he's on it to combat against upset stomach also she said she wasn't too worried about thrush and keep him on for the full 10 days

That's one of the ones that Baytril (enrofloxacin) will treat. This insert shows some of the bacteria used to treat it:

Lets hope. Remember, the bumblefoot culture I had done showed a particular E.coli as resistant to enrofloxacin. When they list " spp." on a label, what they mean is plural of species, but have no idea which strains.

So if it will treat what treats the best just curious
IMO, Baytril is probably the best choice to treat the bacteria listed in that picture. Of course there is a chance that it might not work, but so far it has worked for all of my gram negative infections.

It's a nice 36° today I really can't stand this cold spring yes right it feels like fall been looking at houses down south I might skip the house I'm gonna buy and look down there I'm truly sick of no work in the winter and freezing my but off I mean April 8th with a high of 36° I realy miss Florida and arizona

It's been my experience that if Baytril is gonna work one will see a drastic improvement in the first 24 hours. If no improvement is seen, one should consult a vet ASAP, which is what I think @Michael Apple did?

Yes, although it took a week to get an appointment, which can prevent quick, effective action. Enterobacter is a gram negative bacteria, and E. coli I dealt with is a gram positive bacteria. Fluoroquinolones may be effective in some cases, but an aminoglycosides like Amikacin have proved to be very effective, and are not as hard on the kidneys as others can be. Of course like you often mention, a well hydrated bird makes a big difference during antibiotic therapy.
