My hand stinks...sooooo bad.

Brings to mind the time my (then 21 yr old) son babysat his 5 and 2 yr old cousins. When it came time to change 2yr old's diaper, he had to have 5 yr old hold his nose for him. This was in itself, an achievement....as the previous time, I was called to come over (3 miles away) and do the diaper change for him. Baby steps....

there is nothing worse than that!! and i never understood that till my first broody hatch experiment- getting ready to go to a poultry get together and one last check on the eggs and BOOM! i touched it and it was waiting for me.... i smelled it all day even after changing clothes....

i am surprised yoiu didn't notice its condition before it got to that point.
didn't know an egg could 'go' that fast............

I'm sorry, I had to laugh.

I had failed candled eggs in a bucket from sneaky broodies sitting outside waiting for me to get some bags and put them in the bin the other night when DH was about to put the bin out. At least one was rotten and stinking and he asked me "Shall I just tip them in? "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" I said. After I carefully, carefully tipped them into a plastic bag, tied it up and put it in another one and tied that I carefully lowered it into the bin. It droped maybe 1/2 an inch and BOOM.

DH said "I guess tipping it straight in would have been a bad idea!"

There is a reason I always candle on bin night.

It was an extremely dark brown egg, so hard to candle. I hadn't noticed an odor, either (till today).

Thanks fot all the advice LOL I washed my hands several times and went to bed....am awake now and I think the smell is gone. I sure hope so because I have to leave for work soon!

I had a stink like that once from a necropsy on a chicken that sat in the sun for a while. I tried everything. Nothing worked. It was making me feel sick. I tried straight bleach, then washed it off. The stink was still there. I finally found something that worked. liquid Toilet bowl cleaner. Go figure, the stink was driving me insane, I tried everything.
