I cut up 1 jalepino (sp) pepper and now my hands are on fire! I know I was supposed to wear gloves but I thought 1 pepper won't kill me. How do I stop the BURNING???!!!!

I was recently burned after working with Jalapeno Peppers. After trying several "remedies" and getting no relief, someone told me to put rubbing alcohol on the area. I dabbed it on with a cotton ball and literally within minutes the pain was gone.

I did a search online and this is what I found. I copied and pasted it for you.
Hope it helps.

I have no idea how to stop the burning feeling, but DO NOT TOUCH YOUR EYES!!!! Or any other "sensitive" place!!!

The only way I know that is proven to work to cool off your mouth when you have eaten a pepper is milk or another dairy product. Perhaps it will work for your skin as well. Try putting some milk or yoghurt on your hands and letting it sit for a minute or two before washing it off.

Salt.

The pepper is acid the salt alkalie (sp) they cancle each other out. On the down side the pepper juice is down in your pores now, and will be for a few hours.

Be glad it wasn't a habanero...... as I smirk, been there done that and touched a "sensitive" place.

I know I know - "to much information Steve" or maybe "shut up Steve"

lol

I wonder if hemorrhoid medication would help....The reason I thought of it was because right after we got married, I dipped my finger in hot gease--- I was really in pain and finally after several hours and trying different things, called my doctor.. He called in a prescription for me....I went to pick it up and it was hemorrhord medication....BUT it worked like a charm!
