I'm excited. The store bought eggs my husband got were the wrong ones. I wanted some of the ones marked fertile. None of them were fertile (though they were marked fertile) I cracked them open and not one had any signs of being fertile. A bit upset but my dogs ate well that day.
The 9 eggs from my moms hens and rooster (that was butchered just after collecting these eggs) all were fertile. 3 have what looks to be blood rings. But waiting til monday to take them out. Just to make sure it's an actual blood ring in all 3 of those.
I am hoping for 1 or 2 pullets at most 3. So having 4 hatch will be successful for me. :) I'm excited to see what they turn out like. The rooster was pure white, He was game fowl/ Cornish cross mix. The hens are different purebreds, Some barred rock, Buff O..., RIR, and (breen name escapes me right now... White chickens that are used for egg production).

Hope it goes well for you! I just hatched out some mutts sired by my Silver Laced Wyandotte roo. They haven't feathered out enough to be sure what they'll look like... all are cute and spunky now. Hope you'll have some baby pics to share. :)

Thanks. This is my 4th hatch this year. First one didn't do anything (new incubator issues) then I had 6 hatch, then 26 (out of 3 dozen eggs a friend found in his yard) All I really want is one or two out of this hatch.

I'm getting excited. Close to lock down. I've quit turning the eggs because I have a feeling I may end up with an early bird again. it was yelling at me this morning when I turned them. So tonight I'm going to lay them on their sides, then wait still to raise the moisture.
Can't wait to see what I get. They are from my moms chickens. There is 3 brown eggs, one off white egg, and one white. They are from mix breed, RIR's, barred Rock, Black sex link, and then rooster was game foul/white leg horn mix. He was beautiful. Can't wait to see what I end up with.
I also am going to buy a new camera to take great pictures of them :) I currently do not have a camera.

Starting to find it hard to stay away from the incubator. It's in my spare bathroom door shut. I just check it once a day. Going to get my brooder set up in the garage :)

Due date has come and gone. :( they are still on lockdown. I think they are just late. i've seen some egg wiggling. But they must be to comfy in those eggs or something.
