My Hatching Journey: the Adventures of a Complete Newbie

believe your a little further now a couple of hours anyway but who's counting tick toc
Me....

59 hours and 52 minutes have passed without major problems.

Question, not super urgent: does it matter if the temp goes back and forth from 100--101?
It almost seems to be related to which way the auto turner is.

Small temperature spike 1 hour ago. It went to 103 but I caught it within an hour and got it back down. It happened right after I put in a little shelf for the thermometer to sit on. Did it go too high after trying to get back up to temperature or was the slightly higher elevation enough to change it?

Edit some time later: Note for all reading the thread, this should have tipped me off before it did. I had the thermometer set much too low, causing the actual internal temperature to be much too high and wrecking my hatch.

Maybe it's just because it is a psycho LG that just changes temperature for no reason.

Good thing you were around to catch it!
Most likely.

What I need is a month long vacation just to sit around and watch temperatures.

Just candled my quail eggs, day 6-1/2.
27 eggs
17 definitely developing,
1 had a crack and the air cell was on the pointy end, so I pulled it.
1 appears to have blood ring, but I left it in.
Other 8 likely clear but not definitely, so I left them.
Some of the shells are darker and alot of dark spots on the shells hide stuff.

Edit to correct my math lol
