My heart is broken, Scovey Hen flew off yesterday

Oh no, the poor darling..I hope she is just surveying the layout of the land and will be home soon....I do feel for you though. Please keep us posted. My positive thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you for letting me know that pirtykitty, I was worried she might be lost out there wondering why I haven't come to get her. She's such an adorable gal and so stubborn it's not funny. I'm trying to keep a positive outlook here and not worry but you know how that goes. I went back outside hollering her name until it got dark and nothing...I hope she's cozied up somewhere snickering about Mamma spending so much time out there hollering her name.

sending preayers your way, I hope you find her.

Fred would get her wings clipped when she returned each time she left and came back ( always after her molt).. I'd have to bribe her down from the top of the garage or roof of the house with meal worms or reg. worms a few days before she would take off for tour of the area. Sure would like to know where the little toote would go..
She always came home hungry like she hadn't eaten ..
she took off one time with a couple wild Whistling ducks and I just started crying.. went in the house came back out a little later and she had come back to me...
I was able to have her for about 2 1/2 years before mother nature called her away..

I know she is safe with her mate He is taking care of her..

I believe I'll be grounding Scooter (clipping her wings), my Husband doesn't want me to because he likes to see my ducks fly, however he doesn't love my ducks..he isn't worried about her missing right now and thinks I'm foolish for crying over her. Since she's MY duck, I will be grounding her cause this is too hard to go through and I like to be able to protect my ducks. I need to get some scovey eggs or ducklings and raise her a mate along with some playmates that are just like her. She's been trying to get my Mallard Drake to top her and he just won't do it, he prefers his little mallard gals and my runner/magpie cross.

Mine use to fly off to the river down below us, and couldn't find their way home, so now they get their wings clipped, my dh didn't want me to clip their wings either, but There are way to many predators out there for them to hang out at the river, just start looking up in more ways than 1, they like to hang out in trees too. I will be praying for Scooter that she's home soon...

I'm sure she'll show up. I'll bet she found another muscovy drake somewhere and is with him either on a nearby lake or in someone else's yard or farm.

One of our female muscovy ducks disappeared and we thought for sure we'd never see her again. She was missing for over two weeks, then one day I went outside, and she was back with her pack. She hasn't left since and we still have no idea where she went...or why. I hope your girl comes home soon and stays put!
