My HEN bit my cat

I LOVE this photo. Not only does your Kitty look adorable, she also seems to be vacillating to the thought...."do I or do I not!" I just LOVE it! Your chickens are beautiful, too!

I bet the chicken was trying to make the cat understand who is at the top of the pecking order!!!!

Well, I am sure in the chicken's mind it is a case of either 'eat or be eaten' and apparently she did not think it was her time to go - nor any time soon!!! hee hee hee....

I'd bet the cat got pecked by a chicken. Mine will stalk but keeps her distance. It's like she has to pretend she can stalk a chicken. Chicken 1, cat 0.

What a great chicken! Assertive, knows who it's potential predator is, etc... you need to hatch some of the eggs from that girl!

Our girls regularly run off the neighbor's cat. She comes to sit on the wall and look at these THINGS that have invaded what used to be her hunting (and pooping) ground, and they go into guard mode and advance on her in formation until she takes off. I may have chicken poop in the yard, but no more cat poop!

My chickens will go after the cats at our house, but it is never more than a peck and chase. We have a tendency to be the dumping ground for unwanted cat litters so, at one point there were 3 full grouping of kittens, 17 in all, and the chickens learned that the curious cat is more a problem than the one that ignores them. (Those cats have since been adopted out.) Now that we have baby chicks outdoors, I am seeing that it is good that the chickens show "who is boss" as the cats see no fowl in eating a chick... bad pun, sorry. The chicken absolutely need to show the cat that it is no fun to mess with the chickens, otherwise you'll have to cat-proof a chicken run.

By the way, our chickens are always aggressively going after the cat food, which is why we are building a fence soon.

Your cat on the right looks just like our Molly cat.

The cat just stays far enough away from Tilda so she doesn't get chased. It's only Tilda that chases the cat. The other ones don't seem to give a rats behind. The good thing is since we have had the chickens the cat has stopped bringing in mice. She seems to like to watch them.
I had no idea a hen would attack a cat. I checked the cats back and found no blood or anything. Guess it must have been just loose skin and fur. The chicken looked stupid with fur in it's beak!! And then if that weren't bad enough it wiped its beak on the grass. Slat Slat Slat.

I was going to get a puppy. Now I am not so sure. The hens would probably beat it up.

Reminds me.......One of my outdoor cats was sitting there eating peacefully, fully unaware of the danger lerking about.........One my hens walked quietly up behind him and pecked him right on the rear and I swear that cat jump in the air and did a 3-60 and ran for his live......I laughed so hard I had tears, now he stays very clear of all the chickens....lol

awwwww...Those cat n chicken pics are delicious! and im sure your chicken thought the same when it took a chunk of your cat but the chickens have to be aware of their surroundings or they could be lunch. The only time i have ever seen "When Hens Attack IV" is when our cat got too close to a mommy hen, it was on, and need less to say the cat never got too close again. heck a mommy hen even scares me lol.
