MY HEN CROWS!!!!

Thanks for your help. Out of 10 chickens, I knew it was long odds they'd all be female. Just hope noon else surprises me!

Start comparing back feathering. Pullets have broad, rounded back feathers, like the feathers on the rest of the body. Cockerels develop thin, pointed back feathers.

Excuse my inexperience. Is this a rooster, too

LOL, My hen crows as well! We have no rooster so I think that she has taken on the job...and she enjoys it!

She is definitely loud though!

My Chicken does this. She usually stops crowing once I let her out of the cage, but yes sometimes during the spring and summer she would crow (not as loud as a rooster) at 6:30am !! Drove me crazy. A few times I would squirt her with water and say "No crow!" and she stopped for a while, but as the days get darker (falll/winter) she does not crow.

Also because she is the alpha hen, it makes sense for her to crow. She still lays eggs too !
